In July it will be possible to go by car to watch the films of the 24th International Film Festival AVANCA 2020.
For the first time, on a giant outdoor screen, the films of the festival competition will be screened in a Drive-In system in a large place in the center of the village and next to the Arts Center that Cine Clube de Avanca is building there.
Seeking to respond to the context of a pandemic, and based on the guidelines and recommendations of the Directorate-General of Health (DGS) and the Government, the AVANCA film festival innovates again and adapts to the new times. A Drive-In in Avanca will allow the screening of the International Competition feature films at night, as well as the short films that the organization is selecting.
The Drive-In will not happen in one place, so, before the festival, sessions will be held in different spaces in Avanca and the Municipality of Estarreja. In June and July, the cars will be facing the big screen where some of the best films recently produced worldwide will be screened.
During the day, as it is not possible to project in the Drive-In format, some of the festival's competitions should take place in the usual rooms, although with a strong reduction in their capacity. The Avanca Parish Auditorium will see its 1000 seats reduced to just over 200.
