Avanca Pitch Sessions is the new initiative of the 24th edition of the AVANCA 2020 Film Festival which aims to present the audiovisual industry with the best ideas for short and feature films in development, in an environment of collaboration and promotion of cinema and authors.

Registration is open until June 28 and 10 short films and 5 feature films will be selected, having access to a workshop on cinema pitch and exclusive mentoring sessions with journalist and film critic Rui Pedro Tendinha (SIC / Antena 3 / CineTendinha ) and competition sessions, which take place simultaneously with this year's edition of the Avanca Festival.

The jury includes professionals from production, distribution and cinematographic media, like Nuno Gonçalves (Cinemundo - Portugal), Maria Pacheco (Light Box Films - Portugal), Ralf Tambke (Plural Films - Brazil) and Simone Saibene (Noveolas Producciones - Spain), already confirmed.

In addition to the presentation and recognition by the industry, the winners of each category will be able to win prizes sponsored by the Avanca Film Fund to support the development and film production in the amount of 1,500 Euros for feature films and 750 Euros for short films.
Avanca Pitch Sessions is open to all Portuguese, Spanish or English-speaking writers who can register and consult the conditions of participation in this competition on the website avancapitchsessions.com.

The AVANCA Film Festival and Avanca Pitch Sessions seek to respond to the context of a pandemic, and will take place based on the guidelines and recommendations of the DGS and the Government.
